To be honest, there are a lot of models that I haven't even seen first hand, and I don't think I've seen every version of any of them, but for what it's worth I would go with the Czech CZ/VZs. The CZ-75, or VZ-75 if you prefer, are well made accurate guns and their 9x19mm chambering will out perform any of the 9x18s. It's also a larger easier to handle handgun with a longer barrel than any of the Maks. The Tokarevs and CZ-52s are pretty decent for the most part, but their can be a lot of variations in the quality and condition of these guns. The 7.62x25 cartridge is an impressive performer, too, but for a well made combat handgun no comblock handgun can touch the Czech 9mms.
