this use to happen to genator cars a lot an englis cars are postive grond . this cant hapen with a altenator . will short out . so check if alt is charging an if is reverce polarty it a easey fix haVE TO HAVE BATTERY WITH A NEGATIVE GROND . AN GROND THE FILED WIRE AN FLASH THE POSTIVE WIRE TO HOT WIRE ON ALT AN THIS WILL PUT POLARTY BACK THE RIGHT WAY
