Teens why did commies protest the vietnam war and why do commies protest the wars today?

my relatives come from vietnam and my grandparents lived there and they said they left because the commies won and life would be so hard under the communist, and came to america. why did the commie hippie anti-war people have to end the war in Vietnam by causing unrest and scared the leaders of the USA and the american media turned the american wins into losses?
